Winch-rak

VICE-RAK - clamp anything Bak-rak's patented mounting system gives lots of flexibility to mount things apart from luggage. The vice-rak is a multi-function fitting with a flat plate on top of the normal bak-rak mount. It is a heavy-duty engineering fitting made of 5 and 10mm laser-cut plate - so it will stand up to a life-time of hard work. The plate has a range of slots and holes to allow the fitting of many different items. Among the most useful is a vice. The mount places the vice neatly just above floor level of most vans giving an incredibly useful strong-point to cut or hammer articles lain in the van. This will be a boon to plumbers, electricians, fitters - not to mention gardeners and arboriculturists [to hold a chainsaw for sharpening] and almost all other maintenance people. The mount can also be used with a footplate on top as a removable step for vehicle access. Another option is to fit a larger tray and use it as a secure carrying point for a generator or compressor which would otherwise be unusable in the vehicle or likely to get stolen. You can even run it while on the move if you need mains electricity in motion. The vice-rak can also be used to neatly fit a lightweight winch - though beware of the loading - tow-bracket manufacturers warranty will not cover using a winch - for good reason as it is possible to produce forces high enough to decapitate the tow-ball - heaven knows what that does to a tow-bracket! But like most things - used sensibly it will be no problem! We have also developed a purpose built winch-rak that mounts a winch lower so the pull goes through the centre of the ball.
