More than just a Bike-rack

When you buy a bak-rak you will be entering a new era of multi-use load-carrier that you didn't know existed. All those grotty things you don't want to put in your car [or can't] can now be easily carried. And you can still use it as a bike-rack for up to 5 bikes.

Bak-rak is a tow-ball mounting modular system. It starts off with a  base-rak which fits quickly onto any tow-ball - even swan-necks. This provides a simple 60x70cm rack [for £79] onto which many things can fit directly. We provide a wide range of specific load-carriers from bike-racks to bags.  Or we can sell you the brackets for you to create your own load-carrier for something specific.

Examples of items that can be fitted directly onto the base include :-

1. 3 roof-type bike-racks
2. A bale of hay
3. A small roof box or plastic storage box  to carry luggage.
4. A wheelchair or push chair and baby seat.
5. Surfboards or skis or an inflatable boat and outboard motor

We sell Xtender brackets [£25] that allow 4 bike racks or other loads to be simply fitted and removed. They lock into position in seconds to give you full security and the ability to change loads quickly. You can swap a box for bike-racks in seconds.

We even provide to order longer Xtenders [£45 inc VAT] so you can fit 4-bikes onto big 4x4's where the spare wheel gets in the way. They could also be used for 5 bikes on the right vehicle.

And in seconds you can take the bike-rack off and use it as a load-carrier for luggage or.... anything else!

Q12. Do your bike racks cope with different e.g. kids or electric bikes

A12. Our standard bike rack is designed for 'normal' adult bikes with a frame tube up to 40mm. It is the standard bike rack built by the thousand and on sale in most car accessory shops - normally for around £20 [Ours are £15]. Base-rak will take any roof-type bike racks so if you have a strange bike then buying a single rack locally for that will allow it to be fitted. In practice kids bikes can be accommodated by shortening the diagonal tubes then flattening and re-drilling the ends as per the original. It is obviously your responsibility to do it safely!!
